With over 20 years’ experience working as head chef in some of the finest Asian restaurants in Barcelona, Kav Ly is one of the most distinguished and best-known names in Oriental cuisine in Spain.
Born in Cambodia, she started Ta-Tung in 1980 and offered ready-made meals based on Oriental recipes. The business would later become the leading brand par excellence in Asian cuisine in Spain.
Despite her success, Ly’s early days weren’t easy. She moved to Spain to escape war at a time when Asian cuisine was not as popular as it is today. Undeterred, the chef always knew she didn’t want to take orders from anyone in her work. She wanted to be her own boss. That is what led her to start this adventure, and her restless and entrepreneurial spirit is what has made Ta-Tung the successful company it is today.
